First Friday Gallery Walk
The first Friday of every month, Fort Collins holds a Gallery Walk featuring local fine art and artists, innovators, musicians and performers. This event is made possible by the Art Lab Fort Collins, and every month features different artists and their wonderful creations.
October 30 to November 5:
The Legacy Land Trust Art for Conservation Show and Sale opens October 30th at 5 pm, at the Poudre River Arts Center. Legacy Land Trust and major sponsor Western Trust Bank are bringing together the work of over 50 important local and regional artists in a variety of media, including oils, pastels, watercolors, prints and more. Unique, fresh and beautiful pieces are showcased each year and the artists share the proceeds of their work with Legacy Land Trust to help protect the Wildlife Habitat, farm lands and scenic and natural areas in Larimer, Jackson and Weld Counties.
November 5, 2010:
The Trimble Court Artisans proudly bring you WEAVINGS by Chris Switzer. Perfect for the winter weather, fiber artist Chris Switzer creates hand-woven scarves using alpaca yarn in an array of colors, including metallic, and the supple textures of mohair and silk. Chris is from nearby Estes Park, and he also wrote a book about weaving entitled “Chris Switzer's Third Edition (2005) of the fine book on spinning and weaving Llama, Alpaca, and Paco-Vicuña fiber.”
November 11 – 27, 2010:
Stephen J. Allen Photography Exhibit: Memories of My Ancestors. Studio artist Stephen J. Allen will be sharing his most memorable photographs of Scotland from his trip in 2009. Other than the typical images of Scotland of castles and men in kilts, Allen found the textures of the standing stones, fishing boats and other scenes most fascinating.
So come and support our artists and the cause at this First Friday Gallery Walk! See you there!
